What Our Customers Are Saying...

"I just wanted to say that I purchased my stall skins three years ago and I will never stall a horse without them again. Anyone that comes into my barn always compliments me on how dry my stalls are. Two out of three of my horses “potty” in the same corner of their stalls, so clean up is a breeze! I pick up the poo and the small wet area and I’m done! Many times I can’t remember when I put sawdust in their stalls last because they stay so dry. I do keep my sawdust thick since I know it won’t all be ruined in a day. The horses love it. Especially when it is cold! I am putting up a new run-in this spring and I plan on putting stall skins in there before the horses ever step foot inside. It makes me feel good to know they won’t be standing in mud ever. It’s a great product. I even used the trimmings along the bottom of my slider doors to help stop the drafts. That works great too! Anyone that purchases, won’t be disappointed.
Thank you from the bottom of my horses hooves!!"

"I built my new stalls and installed Stall Skins in June 2008. It's been over 6 months now. Previously I had my mare boarded at a facility which had wood floors without any type of stall mats. I had just purchased my gelding so I had no stall experience with him. At first I was not so sure about the stall skins because I still found I was using a good bit of shavings. I had two horses now and was purchasing shavings by the bag and the labor and costs of bags was overwhelming. Recently, for the Christmas holidays, I had to board my horses at a friend's barn...of course, they do not have any type of stall mats. When we went to pick them up (after 17 days), my gelding was standing in completely WET shavings! My friend commented that she has never seen a horse urinate so much. I was very surprised because I have only found in his stall what I considered to be a "reasonable" amount of soiled shavings. Then my friend says "it must be your stall mats which are keeping your horses dry." So...I thought about what she said. This is what I do: First I pick up all of the manure. Then, I move around the stall, lightly scraping a thin layer of top dry shavings until I find a "wet spot." Then, with my fork I "dig" down to the Stall Skins and scoop out all of the discolored dark shavings. Next, I fill the "hole" back up with dry shavings. My horses stay in the stalls primarily only at night and are in the pasture during the day. I pick out the manure on a daily basis and alternate days cleaning up the urine soiled shavings. I may have several soiled areas (which would be 2 nights' worth) however, the amount of soiled shavings is usually about 2-3" deep and only about the size of my fork...so I really think this is reasonable. So, yes, I was able to save a great deal on shavings because I can purchase them at a great price. But I am also confident that I am using a great deal less shavings than I would if I had not purchased the Stall Skins. And as evidenced by boarding my horses at a facility where there were no stall mats, my horses feet are kept much dryer because of the Stall Skins!

"I wanted to let you know how much I love my stall skin. I bought my first stall skin 10 years ago for my 24x24 outside corral. I just loved it. In the rain, my stall was the only one that was not wet at all! No mud! It was miracle. The urine drained under the stall skin cutting down the cost of shavings. That in itself is a money saver. I was so impressed, I bought 2 more and my friends bought a few also. Well, I have moved my horse to a barn stall which is a 12x12 and I am ordering another stall skin. At first, put down rubber mats because I had them. The urine stands on the rubber and is soaked by the shavings and causes the shavings to be wet all the time. Not good! I know from past experience the stall skin will solve the wet problem. I recommend stall skins for any horse."

"I am 5'2" tall and weigh 130 lbs. I do have some familiarity with tools and helped my husband construct our cedar paddock fence and 10x10' run in shed. I installed the stall stall skin by my self in one hour this afternoon. It was very easy and uneventful. It took an hour because I was a bit fanatical about getting everything even and straight, and included in the time is the time it took to get 8 bales of shavings into the shed and shook out. When I was done, my horse Phoenix went in, laid down, rolled about."

I love my stall skin. We have a 12 X 24 foot foaling stall that we are using it in. It is holding up very nicely and I love the way the bedding stays so much dryer even with pregnant mares using it frequently!! It is the biggest stall we have, but the easiest to clean. I have recommended stall skins to all my "horse" friends.

"Before we built our barn and brought our horses home they were boarded at a barn that had cement floors covered with rubber mats in some stalls and dirt floors in other stalls. The horses were comfortable enough on both types of flooring but the urine really pooled in the stalls with rubber mats and the shavings got quite dirty in the stalls with plain dirt floors. (We had a horse in one of each kind of stall there).
I researched all the stall floor options out there when we built our barn last spring. The other stall flooring systems that allowed urine to pass through to the soil beneath were all very costly. At the last minute, I found Stall skins and decided that the price was worth giving them a try. I cannot say enough good things about Stall skins. I am so happy that I found them.
I installed them myself and I’ve waited 9 months before writing my testimonial just to see how they held up. They are still like new. The urine drains nicely into the sandy gravel beneath. The stalls are easy to clean, even with my messy mare, because there just isn’t a lot of urine to stir around when she walks in circles. In the summer there was virtually no urine smell.
I have recommended the Stall skins to everyone I know and I plan to continue to do so. Thank you for a wonderful product with a fair price! You’ve made my horses very happy."

"The stalls are not as damp and they seem a lot cozier even though it's raining heavily."

"...helps keep the dust down and keeps stalls drier."
Joy Lowe, Punta Gorda, FL

I just wanted to let you know how thrilled I am with your product. I've used stall skins in my stalls for over 5 years now, and have yet to have the need to replace one. And I have pretty tough horses - pacers, weavers and pawers. I even had a draft horse paw on a stall skin for 3 years without even a wear mark. It truely is a durable product and my horses and I LOVE them!
Katie-Nicole Marble - Marble Hill Farm

"I wanted to let you know we love our stall skins. The skins are so easy to care for and are holding up very well. One horse, stomps and paws near the door when the others are out, so I put one rubber mat at his threshold. He still benefits from the over all drainage since he doesn’t pee in the doorway, and he wont damage the skin. The other horses are not has high strung and don’t stomp and paw at the floor so they should hold up as expected.
Thanks again!"

Deborah Longtin - FEURA BUSH, NY

We love your stall skins! They are in all of our stalls now, and the corrals, too. I am able to pressure wash them as often as I need to, and my barn never smells. I live above the barn, so keeping things clean is a must. I use less than 1/4 of a bag of shavings for each stall. The excellent service is a plus, too!
Dana Hutchison, Ultimate Ride Campground, NC

The Web site is very user friendly and tons of information on their products. I purchased Stallskins and got all the information and directions on how to install off their Web site. It was very helpful in making my decision to buy their product. I received my order in 10 days like they said! I found their product and customer service to be excellent. Thank you.

We are very satisfied with this product.
Richard Culver, Pardeeville, WI

Three years ago we built our own ten stall barn and wanted to use the best material possible to line the stalls. We did not like the idea of rubber mats due to the wetness remaining on top and the shifting that often happens with conventional mats. We searched for an alternative and were impressed by the idea of Stall Skins and how the wetness was transferred through the mat rather than remaining on top as well as the one-piece construction. So, we decided to give them a try. We couldn't be happier with the performance of Stall Skins! The installation is a breeze and they do not shift or bunch up in the stalls. The wetness is wicked through and we are convinced that this has saved us considerable money in shavings as well as labor when cleaning the stalls. The Stall Skins that we installed three years ago have been extremely durable and remain like new. We would have to say that they have surely paid for themselves many times over in the savings of our bedding. The health of our horses feet has vastly improved from not having to stand in wet shavings. We enthusiastically recommend Stall Skins to all those who keep horses!

Bridget Coburn, Aylett, VA

"Stall Skins are great. I recommend them to everyone. I used to own a boarding stable and had rubber mats in all the stalls. Even with proper installation they kept shifting and and needed constant attention. When I downsized and moved, I tried your product in one of the stalls and was delighted. It was so lightweight and easy to install. It’s been 3 years and your product has worked great, no shifting or rearranging. We are building a new barn and I just placed an order for all my stalls. It’s the only way to go. Thank you for a great product!!"
Sincerely,
K. Rohlwing, Ocala, FL

"I just love the stall skins, my stalls were always wet and I was throwing away wet sawdust all the time, now it's always dry and the stall floor never seems cold. I will recommend these to anyone who loves their horses and wants to keep them dry. They really are worth every penny. Great product.
Thanks again."

Vicki -- Howe, IN

It's been raining here every afternoon, and today all day long. The mares' marked stall (they alternate who is going to pee in there) is dry. This is wonderful!
Susan Lang, Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

"I bought 12 and loved them so much I made my neighbor buy 12 for his barn."

John Harvard, Scottsdale, AZ

"The Stall Skins arrived within ten business days and they were just as advertised.
I would do business with Southwest Animal Products again, no problem!"

Renee Koutsoukis - Pinole, CA

“We really like what it has done for us, within days we have never seen our stalls so dry, it’s just great. We have tried other stall tarps which only lasted a year, your product is far superior and it was so easy to install. It is already saving me a great deal of labor and making my horse ‘s life fun again!”

Howard Barnes, Green Valley, AZ

"I had to relocate my Stall Skin to a new stall and was surprised to find that after being buried for 2 years it was in perfect condition. I hosed it off, moved it and it works like new."
Rob McGee, La Porte, TX

We ordered a stall skin for one stall. In preparation, we dug out the dirt.
David dug a pit in the center, along with shallow trenches running from the pit. It looked like a drawing of the sun with the sunrays. We put gravel in the pit and trenches. Covered all of that with a layer of sand. (Poor Misty. When she stepped into her stall at that stage of construction, her hind-end would tremble and hunker when she felt the gravel because the ground felt unsteady.) Last step after the sand -- Hurray! -- the actual skin. Put the coving around to hold the skin, trimmed the skin, attached with screws with washers. We completed the stall with fresh clean shavings.
The first time Misty was in her new stall, she did not want to leave.
Normally she is turned out first because she gets antsy being left. (I have begun leaving the horses out due to the time of year,) Well, when the stall door was opened for her to exit, she would not budge. The evening feeding was the same. The next morning it took putting a lead rope around her neck to get her out of her new stall! Tell me our animals do not appreciate having plush homes! She must finally realize that she can return to her nice stall again because she is now back in the routine of exiting when asked. Misty has pooped & peed in her stall. It is easy to scoop out the manure, although a bit like finding Easter eggs (I put too much bedding in (I won't do that again). LOL. And the stall is very dry. And most of
all, no dust!!!

Debbie Williams-Farmerville, AL

“I absolutely love them. I have 2 horses that can destroy anything and they make no impression on them.
The stalls are so much drier and cleaning is so easy. I intend to do my whole barn in them. I am recommending them to all my friends.”

Alicia Miller
Gainesville, GA

“I put stall skins in 2 of my stalls. What a huge difference they have made in how dry the stalls stay and how little bedding I throw away! Pretty easy to install and make stall cleaning much easier. I can’t wait to get them in my other 2 stalls!”
Kathleen Moseley
Centerburg, OH

I truly love the product and will never go back to mats again.
Thank you
Chris Fabry - Eagle, WI

Thanks for your fabulous product! I saw Stallskins at Equitana 99 in Louisville, KY, and bought them for the barn we were building, our first barn. It was the best major purchase we made---besides making stall cleaning easier, I've saved a few thousand dollars in shavings. And, I feel that my horses are more comfortable, thus, much happier.
Windridge Farm-Waxhaw, NC

Mathew Pineda, Rancho Santa Fe, CA

I have had three stall skins for 4 years and absolutely love them. They have cut my shavings bill way down and the barn just smells a lot nicer.
Kim, Mullica Hill, NJ

“Terrific product, they hold up really well. We have been using them for over 10 years. We would never go back to rubber mats, mainly because we save money on our bedding costs. Tell all your friends it’s the only way to go.”
Jonathon Moore - Pagosa Springs, CO

“I recently built a new bar for my show horses and I installed stall skins. Installation was very simple after I put the first one in and I love them. It is very low maintenance, and the time spent cleaning stalls are very easy and less time consuming. I have told all my friends about you product.”
John Ramey

Stall Skin still seems too good to be true. Why would any horse owner not have a Stall Skin?
Gayla Cady -- Blodgett, OR

When we first started Madrone Ranch Stables in 2002, we were looking for a quality stall mat that would reflect the same high-level of standards that our 32-stall barn has. Stall Skins achieve all they promise—they offer great drainage, the shavings stay dry and clean, and the stalls are easy to clean without losing any base underneath.
Three years later we are still as satisfied with Stall Skins as we were the day we installed them. I'd recommend Stall Skins to any barn operation
